Carta de la Subdirectora

Queridas familias,

Tengo la suerte de haber formado parte del equipo de CBS, The British School of Seville desde su apertura en 2009.
Por entonces ya llevaba veinte años viviendo en Sevilla, pero nada me preparó para lo que sentí al cruzar por primera vez las puertas del CBS.

Lo primero que me llamó la atención fueron las instalaciones, tan diferentes, tan llenas de luz y color, pero lo que realmente me emocionó fue el ambiente: el espíritu del sistema educativo británico, los espacios que recordaban a mis años de infancia, las canciones, los cuentos y las tradiciones en inglés. Todo ese mundo reunido en un solo lugar: CBS.
A día de hoy, sigo sintiendo la misma ilusión cada mañana cuando llego al colegio a las 9:00.

CBS es diferente. Si tuviera que definirlo con una palabra, sería “especial”.
Y quizá te preguntes, ¿qué hace a CBS tan especial?

Ante todo, CBS no es un edificio, ni siquiera un conjunto de aulas o instalaciones. CBS es una comunidad de personas: familias, profesores, personal de administración, mantenimiento, cocina y limpieza, todos trabajando con un mismo propósito: ofrecer a cada alumno una educación personalizada, cercana y feliz.

A lo largo de los años, nuestra familia CBS ha seguido creciendo. Cada curso damos la bienvenida a nuevas familias y nuevos profesores, que llegan con entusiasmo, ideas frescas y experiencias que enriquecen nuestro colegio. Su energía y compromiso contribuyen a que CBS siga evolucionando, mejorando y adaptándose, sin perder nunca la esencia que nos define: el cariño, la colaboración y el deseo constante de ofrecer lo mejor a nuestros alumnos.

Creemos firmemente que la educación es la clave de la felicidad futura, y por eso tratamos a cada niño como un individuo único. En CBS entendemos que cada estudiante crece y aprende a su propio ritmo, y nuestra misión es acompañarle y motivarle para que descubra su propio camino, despierte su curiosidad y alcance sus metas con entusiasmo y autonomía.

Nuestro colegio es como una gran familia. Conocemos a nuestros alumnos, su entorno, sus pasiones, sus preocupaciones y sus sueños. Cada uno de ellos recibe un acompañamiento individual, con la cercanía y el cuidado que caracterizan a nuestra comunidad.

Después de tantos años en CBS, más de dos mil días compartiendo aprendizajes, retos y alegrías, puedo asegurar con orgullo que hemos vivido muchos más momentos felices que dificultades, más risas que lágrimas, y más “enhorabuenas” que quejas.

El día más gratificante del año, sin duda, es el de la graduación de Year 13. Ver a nuestros alumnos alcanzar sus metas, comenzar su etapa universitaria, ya sea en España, Reino Unido o cualquier parte del mundo, o iniciar su carrera profesional en artes, hostelería, aviación o formación técnica, es una experiencia indescriptible. Saber que hemos formado parte de su viaje es, para mí, la mayor recompensa que puede tener un educador.

Si buscas algo más que un colegio, un lugar donde tu hijo sea valorado por quien es, donde se sienta feliz aprendiendo, y donde se le inspire a soñar en grande y a alcanzar su máximo potencial, CBS es ese lugar.

Espero poder darte la bienvenida pronto y enseñarte en persona lo que hace de CBS, The British School of Seville, un colegio verdaderamente especial.

Dear Families,

I have been fortunate to be part of the CBS, The British School of Seville, team since we first opened our doors in 2009.
At that time, I had already been living in Seville for twenty years, yet nothing could have prepared me for the feeling I had when I first stepped into CBS.

The first thing that caught my attention was the building itself — so bright, so different from traditional schools in Spain — but what truly moved me was the atmosphere: the spirit of the British education system, the familiar classroom layouts, the songs, stories, and traditions in English.
All of it together, in one place — CBS. I can still remember that feeling of nostalgia, and I continue to feel it every morning at 9:00 when I arrive at school to begin the day.

CBS is different. If I had to choose one word to describe it, it would be “special.”
And you may wonder, why?

Because CBS is not just a building or a set of facilities — it’s a community of people. Families, teachers, administrative staff, maintenance, kitchen, and cleaning teams — all working together with one shared purpose: to provide each student with a personalised, caring, and joyful education.

Over the years, our CBS family has continued to grow.
Each new school year, we welcome new families and new teachers who bring fresh energy, ideas, and experiences that enrich our community.
Their enthusiasm and commitment help CBS to evolve, improve, and adapt, while staying true to what makes us unique — warmth, collaboration, and a genuine desire to give our students the very best.

We believe that education is the foundation of future happiness and that every child is unique. At CBS, we recognise that every student learns and develops at their own pace, and our goal is to guide, inspire, and support them so that they discover their passions and achieve their goals with confidence and independence.

CBS truly feels like a big family. We know our students — their backgrounds, interests, worries, and dreams. We take pride in offering an individual approach, where every child feels seen, supported, and valued.

After so many years — more than two thousand days of shared learning, challenges, and laughter — I can say with pride that there have been far more highs than lows, more smiles than tears, and many more congratulations than complaints.

The most rewarding day of every year, without a doubt, is our Year 13 Graduation Day.
Watching our students reach their goals — whether entering university in Spain, the UK, or abroad, or pursuing a vocational or professional pathway in areas such as the arts, hospitality, or aviation — is an indescribable feeling.
Knowing that we have been part of their journey is the greatest reward an educator can experience.
