Una emotiva despedida para nuestros alumnos de Sixth Form: ¡Gracias por ser parte de nuestra historia!
El pasado viernes 13 de junio vivimos en CBS, The British School of Seville una de esas tardes que se quedan grabadas para siempre. Nuestros alumnos de Year 13 celebraron su esperada graduación en una ceremonia entrañable, rodeados del cariño de sus familiares, amigos, profesores y de todo el equipo del colegio.
Fue un acto lleno de emoción, palabras sentidas y recuerdos compartidos. Un momento para cerrar una etapa y abrir otra, para mirar al pasado con gratitud y al futuro con esperanza.
Durante el evento, nuestro director Agustín Aycart ofreció un inspirador discurso que nos invitó a reflexionar sobre el tiempo: ese concepto misterioso que tantas veces no sabemos explicar, pero que todos sentimos. Recordó que la vida se vive en el presente, que el futuro aún no existe y que el pasado vive en la memoria. Y precisamente por eso, este instante —el de la graduación— es tan valioso: porque es real, porque ocurre aquí y ahora, y porque representa el comienzo de una nueva aventura para todos ellos.
Con cariño, el director también quiso dedicar unas palabras especiales a los alumnos que llegaron este año desde el Colegio ISA. Reconoció los desafíos que enfrentaron y les agradeció por haber enriquecido con su presencia la comunidad de CBS, afirmando que ahora ambos caminos se han unido para formar un proyecto más fuerte, más completo y más humano.
También intervinieron varios alumnos y el tutor de Year 13, Mr Juan, que aportaron palabras llenas de orgullo, humor y emoción. Fue una tarde de celebración, pero también de reflexión, de abrazos y de miradas cómplices entre compañeros que han crecido juntos, que han compartido ilusiones, exámenes, nervios… y muchos momentos felices.
Mr. Juan, tutor de Year 13, resumió con emoción y claridad el espíritu de esta etapa que termina:»Hoy se cierra una etapa. Pero no es un punto final: es una coma. Una pausa breve antes de que empiece vuestro siguiente párrafo, el que ahora escribiréis por vuestra cuenta, con lo que sois, con lo que habéis aprendido y, sobre todo, con lo que sentís. Gracias por dejarme formar parte de vuestra historia. Y, por favor, pase lo que pase… no dejéis de brillar.»
A lo largo del discurso, se recordó a los graduados que los sueños no siempre se alcanzan a la primera, que los errores son parte del camino y que a veces sirven para descubrir que un cambio de rumbo puede llevarnos justo al lugar donde necesitamos estar. Se les animó a seguir aprendiendo siempre, a nunca perder la curiosidad y a confiar en su capacidad para mejorar el mundo con aquello que aman hacer.
Hoy queremos darles las gracias por haber formado parte de la historia de CBS. Por su esfuerzo, por su alegría, por su autenticidad. Nos sentimos orgullosos de cada uno de ellos y felices de haber compartido este trocito de vida juntos.
Y aunque ahora salgan al mundo con nuevos retos por delante, CBS siempre será su casa. Les deseamos lo mejor en su viaje… y les esperamos con los brazos abiertos siempre que quieran volver.
A Heartfelt Farewell to Our Sixth Form Students: Thank You for Being Part of Our Story!
Last Friday, 13 June, we experienced one of those unforgettable afternoons at CBS, The British School of Seville. Our Year 13 students celebrated their much-anticipated graduation in a heartfelt ceremony, surrounded by their families, friends, teachers, and the entire school community.
It was an emotional event, full of meaningful words, shared memories and warm embraces. A moment to close a chapter and open a new one—to look back with gratitude and forward with hope.
Our Principal, Agustín Aycart, delivered an inspiring speech reflecting on the nature of time—a concept both simple and complex. He reminded us that life is lived in the present, that the future is still to come and the past lives only in memory. That’s why this moment—graduation—is so valuable: because it is real, because it happens now, and because it marks the beginning of a brand-new journey for each of them.
With great warmth, Agustín also addressed those students who joined CBS this year from Colegio ISA. He acknowledged the challenges they faced and thanked them for enriching our community, stating that CBS and ISA were like two parallel rivers that have now joined to form a stronger and more united flow.
Several outstanding students also gave speeches, along with Mr Juan, the Year 13 tutor, who shared words full of pride, humour and emotion. It was an afternoon of celebration, but also of reflection, of hugs and knowing glances between classmates who have grown together, sharing dreams, exams, nerves… and so many happy moments.
Mr Juan, Year 13 tutor, summed up the spirit of this closing stage with clarity and emotion: «Today, a chapter comes to an end. But it’s not a full stop, it’s a comma. A brief pause before you begin writing your next paragraph, one that you’ll create with who you are, what you’ve learned and, above all, with what you feel. Thank you for letting me be part of your story. And please, whatever happens… never stop shining.»
Throughout the speeches, our graduates were reminded that not everything works out on the first try, that mistakes are part of the journey, and that they can often lead us to unexpected, wonderful destinations. They were encouraged to keep learning, to stay curious and to trust in their ability to make the world a better place through what they love.
Today, we want to thank them for being part of CBS’s story—for their effort, their spirit and their unique presence. We are proud of each one of them and grateful to have walked alongside them for a part of their lives.
Though they now step out into the world to face new challenges, CBS will always be their home. We wish them the very best… and we’ll always be here with open arms when they choose to return.
