El pasado viernes 12 de junio disfrutamos de una noche para recordar. Una familia que nunca se despide.

Hay momentos que se preparan durante meses. Y hay otros que se construyen durante años.

La Graduación de Sixth Form (Bachillerato) celebrada el pasado 12 de junio fue uno de esos momentos imposibles de resumir en unas pocas palabras. Porque no fue solo una ceremonia. Fue el final de una historia que comenzó hace mucho tiempo para muchos de nuestros alumnos. Algunos llegaron a CBS siendo apenas unos niños. El pasado viernes los vimos cruzar el escenario convertidos en jóvenes preparados para comenzar una nueva etapa de sus vidas.

Hubo sonrisas. Hubo abrazos que parecían querer congelar el tiempo. Hubo miradas cómplices entre compañeros que han compartido aulas, excursiones, nervios antes de los exámenes, éxitos, decepciones y cientos de recuerdos imposibles de olvidar.

Y sí, también hubo lágrimas. Lágrimas de felicidad, de orgullo y de nostalgia.

Durante la ceremonia, nuestra Subdirectora, Miss Samantha, agradeció a las familias la confianza depositada en CBS a lo largo de todos estos años y recordó a los alumnos cuánto han aportado a nuestro colegio simplemente siendo ellos mismos.

Nuestro Director, Agustín Aycart, habló de algo que todos entendimos perfectamente esa noche: que la vida no se mide únicamente por títulos, notas o éxitos profesionales, sino por las «cosas pequeñitas». Los abrazos. Las conversaciones. Los amigos. El tiempo compartido. Los momentos que parecen sencillos hasta que un día descubrimos que son precisamente los más importantes.

Sus palabras adquirieron una emoción aún más profunda cuando recordó a Juan Fran, compañero, amigo y hermano de un alumno de esta promoción, cuya ausencia se hizo presente en cada recuerdo compartido y en cada corazón que sigue guardando su sonrisa. Porque algunas personas nunca dejan de formar parte de una promoción. Nunca dejan de formar parte de una familia.

Uno de los momentos más especiales llegó con las palabras de Mr Marín, tutor de Year 13, que comparó estos años con un gran lienzo pintado poco a poco a través de experiencias, aprendizajes, alegrías, dificultades y crecimiento personal. Un lienzo que ya está completo, pero que jamás desaparecerá.

«El lienzo, una vez se pinta, no se borra. Siempre queda ahí.»

Y quizá esa frase resume perfectamente lo que sentimos todos los que estuvimos allí. CBS no son solo edificios, clases o exámenes.

CBS son las personas. Son los profesores que acompañan. Las familias que apoyan. Todo el equipo CBS ayudando a crear este segundo hogar para nuestros alumnos. Y, desde luego, los alumnos que, aunque un día se marchan, dejan una parte de sí mismos para siempre entre nosotros.

Los discursos de los propios alumnos, el vídeo que prepararon recorriendo sus años en CBS y las innumerables anécdotas compartidas durante la celebración nos hicieron reír y emocionarnos a partes iguales.

Al terminar la noche, nadie quería irse demasiado rápido. Porque todos sabíamos que estábamos viviendo uno de esos momentos que se recuerdan toda la vida.

A nuestros graduados:

Gracias por vuestra alegría y vuestra confianza. Gracias por permitirnos acompañaros durante una parte tan importante de vuestro camino. Estamos inmensamente orgullosos de vosotros. Os deseamos que seais inmensamente felices.

Y aunque hoy emprendáis nuevos destinos, recordad siempre que esta seguirá siendo vuestra casa. Y donde quiera que vayáis, iremos con vosotros en el corazón.

Last Friday, 12th June, we enjoyed a night to remember. A family that never truly says goodbye.

Some moments are prepared over the course of months. Others are built over the years.

The Sixth Form Graduation held on 12th June was one of those moments that is impossible to capture in just a few words. Because it was far more than a ceremony. It was the closing chapter of a story that began many years ago for many of our students. Some first arrived at CBS as young children. Last Friday, we watched them walk across the stage as young adults, ready to begin a new chapter of their lives.

There were smiles. Some embraces seemed to want to freeze time itself. There were knowing glances between classmates who have shared classrooms, school trips, pre-exam nerves, successes, disappointments and hundreds of memories that will never be forgotten.

And yes, there were tears too. Tears of happiness, pride and nostalgia.

During the ceremony, our Deputy Principal, Miss Samantha, thanked families for the trust they have placed in CBS throughout the years and reminded students of just how much they have contributed to our school simply by being themselves.

Our Principal, Agustín Aycart, spoke about something that everyone understood perfectly that evening: that life is not measured solely by qualifications, grades or professional achievements, but by the “little things”. The hugs. The conversations. The friendships. The time shared. The moments that seem ordinary until one day we realise they were, in fact, the most important of all.

His words took on an even deeper emotional meaning when he remembered Juan Fran, a classmate, friend and brother of one of the students in this graduating class, whose absence could be felt in every shared memory and in every heart that still carries his smile. Because some people never stop being part of a year group. They never stop being part of a family.

One of the most special moments of the evening came through the words of Mr Marín, Year 13 Tutor, who compared these years to a great canvas painted little by little through experiences, learning, joys, challenges and personal growth. A canvas that may now be complete, but will never disappear.

“Once a canvas has been painted, it cannot be erased. It remains there forever.”

Perhaps that sentence perfectly captured what everyone present was feeling.

CBS is not simply a collection of buildings, lessons or examinations. CBS is people. It is the teachers who guide and support. The families who encourage and believe. The entire CBS team working together to create a second home for our students.

And, above all, the students themselves, who, even when they move on, leave a part of themselves with us forever.

The speeches delivered by the students, the video they created reflecting on their years at CBS and the countless stories shared throughout the celebration made us laugh and moved us in equal measure.

As the evening came to an end, nobody seemed eager to leave too quickly. Because we all knew we were experiencing one of those moments that stays with you for a lifetime.

To our graduates:

Thank you for your joy and your trust. Thank you for allowing us to accompany you through such an important chapter of your lives. We are immensely proud of each and every one of you. We wish you every happiness in the world.

And although you now embark on new adventures, always remember that this will remain your home. And wherever life takes you, a part of CBS will travel with you in our hearts.
